Last Month, we had the Heavenly miracle blessing to attend a Temple Wedding in Manilla. Jordan and Aronicalyn invited us and the other Sr.Couple, Elder and Sister Bell.
On Thanksgiving morning, we woke with the alarm clock at 3 am and were on our early morning drive at 4:30 am.
Elder Bell drove a 3 1/2 hr drive to Manilla. Then he drove us an hour through those very frightening Manilla freeways, which have no tickets issued to those who don't want to drive responsibly. Lines on the road don't apply, Yes,, it really is as inches-close as what the picture shows...
It was a blue clear beautiful day. We went on a Temple Endowment session, and we used some of the Bell's ward member's family names, (those who have died who didn't get Temple work done in life). We met Temple Workers from Rose Park and Payson Utah.
Then we witnessed the beautiful Temple Wedding of Jordan Cendena and his lovely bride Aronicalyn for Time and all Eternity. Aronicalyn got to use the Temple wedding dress, a great benefit of cost to those who get married here. After, there were pictures.
Many more came for pictures, I didn't get the large family photo.
We had pictures of us in front of the lovely Manilla Temple
We went to the Distribution Center. SLC, count your blessings, it is very scant choices here. No scriptures or hymn or Primary songbooks were in stock in English.
No Christmas pictures, no 1st Pres. pics, or Liahona mag (Ensign),next year's New Test. manuals all not in stock.
I bought out the 5 Manilla Temple and 3 Christ pictures they had - in the only size available - 3x5. We give these away to members that we visit on our Mission, to display these pictures in their humble homes.
Then for Thanksgiving Dinner, we went to DAD'S Buffet== glorious world-wide choices of foods.... Even turkey=== for our first taste of it in the Philippines!
There were pictures on the wall that Sister Roberts may re-paint...
Then we went to S&R store - like a Costco. But,,, our list was not purchased as we would have liked it... There is NO candy canes anywhere in the Philippines or colored marshmallows, baking chocolate, pumpkin canned, cottage cheese, or tomato soup. We bought some Choc Almonds and M&Ms.
We did see this candy for sale...
And when we got home and Skyped, grandson Jordan made us faint at the sight of Eggnog.
The next night, we went to the Wedding Reception at the Church. It said it started at 5. At 7 pm all was ready. The bride wore her pretty white Sunday dress. After many talks of 1 1/2 hours, they cut the cake.
Everyone was invited for dinner. There was 20 lbs of cooked rice, bb que pork, vegs, and dessert. The Missionaries love the food ! Elder Christensen (blonde) is from Syracuse, UT, where Janelle lives.
We are so grateful for these blessings of the Temple. It truly is the place where we can all be sealed as a family together forever, if we keep our covenants and endure to the end. May we all make these Eternal Choices.
Love,
Elder and Sister Roberts
