2015 The Happy New Year of New Babies, Prayers to Find Lost Souls and Things

2015    We have a New Granddaughter in our Family.   Congratulations!

James and Karen Roberts welcomed on Jan. 7

Hallie Lynn Roberts

Also Happy Birthday to Andrea 8th, Evan 8th, Jeremy 16th, and Jaxon 20th.

This makes in our combined family-
15 Anak (children)       and
31 Apo   (grandchildren)

We have also seen 10 other babies in the area, born since November. Here are some of them (some repeat pictures in other blogs..)

Sister Castronueva   a boy

The Supnet's   a boy,  and yes the door way is that low...

Our Woodcarver, Branch Pres. Dango has a boy, his 2nd child.

Calasiao Town - District Pres. Untalan's baby girl is 3rd child.

Mary Rose -baby girl is one week old at Church !

Sister Senin   a boy, her 6th baby.

And this is Pres. and Sister Monahan's grandson born earlier than Nov., but so cute.

We had wonderful experiences this week.   We visited many families who helped us to find "lost souls".

Even while a birthday party was being celebrated, Sister Cera pulled up chairs for us, and made another appt. to meet us.  Days later when we came to visit, she spent 1/2 hour going over Branch records.  Here is her interesting treats tree of hot dogs and marshmallows...

We went to find a member that did not have an address.  We went with the Branch Pres. daughter who also didn't know him.

We asked street store owners, and neighbors.  We went down a pathway...

and found the family.  He had been quite sick. The non-member wife pulled up chairs with us and helped us sing "I am a Child of God".
Now the Branch Pres. knows, and can send him Home Teachers.

Then, the non-member wife showed another family on our list, also. We went to the home...

TThe records did not show that all these people with the same last name were related.  They  live closeby.  The Grandmother was blind, and there were several non-members.  We all sang I am a Child of God and had a prayer. They thanked us, and asked us to return. More Home Teachers are needed...

Elder Roberts had lost his watch, he always puts in on the nightstand every night.  We looked for two days and prayed.  Sister Roberts found it under the bed, in the middle of the floor....?

A while ago, Sister Roberts lost a special necklace she brought to the Mission.  Her Mother had given it to her many years ago from a trip - maybe to Mexico.
The necklace was lost about 2 months and we prayed we would find it.  Elder Roberts found it while cleaning the car.  It had fallen between the seats, and it was "inside!" the seat cover !

It seems everyone asks Sister Roberts where she got the necklace...  People even stop us in the Mall to ask about it,,, and then a conversation starts about the reason we are in the Philippines on a Mission, and we give an Articles of Faith Card, or a Pass-along Card

In the Book of Mormon, we read...

Alma 37: 6   Now ye may suppose that this is foolishness in me; but behold I say unto you, that by small and simple things are great things brought to pass; and small means in many instances doth confound the wise.

.Every month, our Mission President Monahan gives us a topic to study on.  (We think we will do this for the rest of our lives)
This month the topic is...
 Endure   to   the   End.
Here is one of our favorite scrips we found...

2 Nephi 31: 14
But, behold, my beloved brethren, thus came the voice of the Son unto me, saying: After ye have repented of your sins, and witnessed unto the Father that ye are willing to keep my commandments, by the baptism of water, and have received the baptism of fire and of the Holy Ghost, and can speak with a new tongue, yea, even with the tongue of angels, and after this should deny me, it would have been better for you that ye had not known me.

15 And I heard a voice from the Father, saying: Yea, the words of my Beloved are true and faithful. He that endureth to the end, the same shall be saved

Sister Roberts likes it especially, because it is a testimony of Jesus Christ, and ..  Heavenly Father also testifies of Jesus Christ.

May we all have Faith in Jesus Christ and his Gospel, pray for what we need, and endure to the end.

The Baptism we helped with last week.

 Love,
Elder and Sister Roberts
