This is how they announce and post that someone has died.
This is a burial casket store.
When there's no room- ride on the back.
We drove passed a rice paddy.
These big piggies went to market ...
I was reading the ward list. I said to Elder Roberts- STOP -we just passed the street of a member woman on the list we've never met. He backed up.
We parked and walked down the dirt pathway. Many families were around their homes. We saw a woman coming towards us. We asked her for the member's name, It Was Her ! It was hard to understand her Tagalog language, so we asked 2 women for help in translating. They said the member wasn't too interested anymore.
The 2 women were so friendly and non-members, so I gave them a Pass-along-card with the Articles of Faith. Everyone accepts these in the Philippines- probably because of the free pic of Jesus Christ.
They even invited us to sit inside the porch with them. We showed them pics of our family and home. Everyone is always surprised with our 14 combined children and 30 combined grandchildren.
Everyone loves Cowboy Wendle on the horse. They say Oh, you rich with 3 horses (Kabayos) and 20 cows (baka's). I guess we are...
They love snowy Timpanogos mountain pic.
One woman kept asking questions. We explained we were Couple Missionaries that visit members. She agreed to be visited by the Elders-the teaching missionaries. We forwarded the referral.
Then, we drove further blocks down the road, not knowing where to go. We asked at a SariSari mini store for location of another member. (Here is an example pic of the store). They said it was next door!
The member was not home,,,but her non-member daughter-in-law spoke with us. She said she used to get missionary discussions, but she moved here to have help with her new baby.
We also found out her husband was Amor's cousin (who couldn't go with us this afternoon!) She agreed to have the Elders come again!
The next day, we went with the Elders. We visited both families, and also got one more referral from a neighbor.
We are grateful for the Spirit of the Lord directing us to his precious children...As it says in Alma 31:34,35....
34 O Lord, wilt thou grant unto us that we may have success in bringing them again unto thee in Christ.
35 Behold, O Lord, their souls
are precious, and many of them are our brethren; therefore, give unto
us, O Lord, power and wisdom that we may bring these, our brethren,
again unto thee.
We love the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
We Love all of you too.
Elder and Sister Roberts
