Harvest and Interesting Mission Life

There is much rice harvest still going on.  Interestingly, it seems to be a good harvest because of the much rain in September, and now (still in the rainy season), it has not rained very much this month.  So the rice has grown high and there is time to harvest the good crop and without rain, to dry it on the roads.  So everywhere we go, rice is drying on the road.

  There is a scripture in D&C 4:4
4 For behold the field is white already to harvest; and lo, he that thrusteth in his sickle with his might, the same layeth up in store that he perisheth not, but bringeth salvation to his soul.

What a beautiful harvest day...

We try to bring members back to Church and the Lord shows us others to begin learning in his Gospel.

We visited a great family today, with Amor and her brother and his friend Kitz Tony that will be baptized on Sat.  This is the family we visited.

We talked to others along the road and made friends with Mothers and Fathers, basketball playing young men, and sweet young women and children.

We could not find any of the members homes on our list --on the  streets and in crowded neighborhood compounds.

More rice was being dried on the roads.

We passed by the rice harvest bundles, and the chickens were feasting on the leftover kernals on the road.

So we went to visit Kitz's Mother.  She lived in a beautiful jungle area that the homes are not close together.  We saw a green leafy fern that when you touch it, it closes up to a stick-like brown twig.

We gave Kitz' Mother's friend pamphlets, and she agreed to have future Missionary Discussions.

On the way home, we had some corn on the cob, and gave the vendor a pass-along card.

Kitz Tony got baptized on Saturday night.  Amor and her brother Jhomer are on the right.

Patricio Garin - next to Sister Robert (his parents are so funny! Mom's name is LilyBeth) leaves to his Davao Philippines Mission tonight at 2 am.  He will enter the Philippines MTC.  His parents are going down with him to the Manilla Temple on a 5 hr bus ride, staying over at the inexpensive Temple Patron Housing, and 5 hrs ride home.

Everyday, the Lord leads us to his chosen sons and daughters, and we are thankful to be his servants  to be part of Hastening the Work of Salvation of the Lord's Church of Jesus Christ  of Latter-day Saints.

Love,
Elder and Sister Roberts
