We had our Happy Wedding Anniversary on Feb. 5th. We are so very thankful to be happy and having fun with each other. We are alike in so many ways. Elder Roberts says it's special "being in the harness, pulling the same together. Elder Roberts got me white roses for our Anniversary.
We've been so many places during our Married life. Wow, we are on a Mission in the Philippines.
Grandson Jordan Lewis James received his Mission Call to the Kentucky Louisville Mission, English Speaking ! He got his call on Valentines Day Feb. 14 and will go to the Provo MTC on April Fools Day- April 1st. There is a Temple there, Congratulations to Jordan! We will miss seeing him. He is the one on the right.
We received happy news that Matt and Natalie are expecting their 2nd child in Sept. We hope we will be home before the new baby arrives.
We received our new Feb. 2015 issue of the Liahona (also Ensign) LDS Church magazine. Sister Roberts was looking on page 23, and she recognized a picture face in the article of her own Family History. It is her great great great Grama Hannah Mariah Eagles Harris. She was also mentioned in the May 2014 General Conference Ensign magazine pg 98, by Elder William Walker of the 70's.
We count this also along with many tender mercies from our Heavenly Father.
Here is Sister Roberts' Mother-to-Mother Family History pictures..
We attended a baptism of 79 year old at the San Jacinto Branch. We are so proud of him at his age.
There were several parades going on here,, called Festival. One Catholic High School dressed in colorful costumes, most waved at us "Mormons" in front of the LDS Church we were visiting.
We also attended, in another Mangaldan Branch, 6 baptisms - no picture here. Sister Roberts was asked to play piano. (Sister Roberts doesn't play very well like her daughters. Mostly top hand.. but.. she plays more than others here.)
We visited Missionaries for Apartment Checks. They do great jobs of cleaning and being prepared. A few need more water storage.
At one area, the Sisters asked us to come give a blessing to a man. We were honored.
He gave us coconuts and bananas- which were delicious!
On our continuing quest to find "unknown address members", we found a family in a beautiful meadow complex. They were welcoming and said no one had visited them for 2-3 years.
We had a song and message and prayer. We invited them to come to Church. One of the daughter-in-laws accepted Missionary discussions.
We walked up their road to see the view up the hill.
Coming down the hill, we noticed the dry fields because of no rain.
We close this blog with a visit to Corazon, (it means heart). She is a loving, faithful woman, who is not feeling well. Please remember her in your prayers.
May the Lord's blessings and tender mercies be upon us all, as we strive to keep his commandments, serve Him and pray to Him, and serve others.
1 Now behold, a marvelous work is about to come forth among the children of men.
2 Therefore, O ye that embark in the service of God, see that ye serve him with all your heart, might, mind and strength, that ye may stand blameless before God at the last day.
4 For behold the field is white already to harvest; and lo, he that thrusteth in his sickle with his might, the same layeth up in store that he perisheth not, but bringeth salvation to his soul;
5 And faith, hope, charity and love, with an eye single to the glory of God, qualify him for the work.
6 Remember faith, virtue, knowledge, temperance, patience, brotherly kindness, godliness, charity, humility, diligence.
We testify of the truthfulness of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Love,
Elder and Sister Roberts
Sister Corazon passed away of cancer about Aug 2015, a month before we came home.
