We went back to visit a non-member friend, Virginia. Last year, she had told us she was too shy to talk to strangers, but she was friendly to us, because the children had led us to her. We had gone by to visit her at Christmas time, and in January, but her family said she was always gone to another town to stay with family.
The children again led us to her. Some of their eyes twinkled when they said they remembered Elder and Sister Roberts...
We found our friend Virginia in good health. Her sister-in-law said she herself had been baptized, and gave the year and Missionaries names. We looked on the Member List - she was not there.... and not on the Unknown Address List. We told the Branch Pres. so he could find her records.
We visited our friends again, the Moses and Josephine Fernandez Family. He had been inactive, but through his diligence, he is now the Young Men's Presidency Counselor. Josephine, a woman of faith, is responsible for finding many on the Unknown Address List. Their son, Mark Joseph -14, was a miracle baby, is now a very fine Teacher in the Aaronic Priesthood, planning a future Mission. (Sorry about the fuzzy pics. My camera is on it's last leg...)
She has her own roadside barbeque. Some of the food is cooked on her clay stove.
Our next door neighbor, Sandy also used a clay stove to cook Sweet Bibinka. It tastes like sweet gummy rice and coconut. I don't think I will make it, it is quite the process... Prepare the coals, put the mixture in a banana leaf covered clay cereal bowl, and put on the stove. Put coals on the metal plate-lid, and use tongs to put the lid on the bowl.
The finished product.
We again visited Sister Ercanacion Erpelo. She is 78 years old.
She only speaks Tagalog, but we, through pointing, asked her if she knew about a 91 year old woman (on the Unknown List)in her barangay (neighborhood). She said it was her sister, who died many years ago.
We call her "Grama Willow" because she reminds us of Pocahantas' (movie) "Grama Willow).

She comes to Church faithfully each week, even though she is the only LDS Church member of her family. She come in a "trike" like this... (Martin family notice the name...)
Grama Willow even feeds the chickens under feet with a bit of her rice...
2 And now, my (daughter), I trust that I shall have great joy in you, because of your steadiness and your faithfulness unto God; for as you have commenced in your youth to look to the Lord your God, even so I hope that you will continue in keeping his commandments; for blessed is he that endureth to the end.
May we all follow our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and may we be influenced for good by the good of all good people.
In the Book of Mormon, we read...
Moroni 7: 12 Wherefore, all things which are good cometh of God;
:13 But behold, that which is of God inviteth and enticeth to do good continually;
:16 For behold, the Spirit of Christ is given to every man, that he may know good from evil; wherefore, I show unto you the way to judge; for every thing which inviteth to do good, and to persuade to believe in Christ, is sent forth by the power and gift of Christ; wherefore ye may know with a perfect knowledge it is of God.
In the name of Jesus Christ, amen.
Elder and Sister Roberts
